#1 Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach has consistently not only been ranked one of the best beaches in Florida, but in the United States over the last 20 years. In 2013, USA Today declared Clearwater Florida the “Best Beach Town in Florida”. After the completion of the long-awaited Beach Walk project in 2008, double-wide sidewalks were installed, and pedestrian friendly paved promenades were put in to encourage strollers, bikers and joggers to get out and enjoy the white sand.  In addition to the charter fishing, dolphin-watching and site-seeing leisure charters are available in the area, you can also jump on the Buccaneer Pirate Ship or super charged Banana Boat for an exhilarating tour. Families can visit the famous dolphin “Winter” who lives at the nearby Clearwater Aquarium. If fabulous dining is what you are seeking, try beachfront dining at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill. After sundown there are a wide variety of clubs and nightlife including two-story dance club, The Wave, at Shepherd’s Beach Resort. Looking for a great way to end your day? Visit the Pier to take part in the sunset celebration that includes entertainment and a craft market. There is fun for all!

#2 St. Pete Beach

St. Pete Beach was recently named “One of America’s Top 10 Best Beach Towns for 2013” by Parents magazine, and given loads of praise by others. It of course has your white sands, but what makes this beach special is how it’s woven into the fabric of the beach community. Amongst the attractive beach-side amenities including restaurants, tiki bars, cabana rentals, jet ski rentals and scooter rentals, there is a wonderful mixture of people from all over the world there intermingling at any given time. If your visit is a brief one, you have an abundance of full-service resorts and boutique hotels lining the beach. If it’s long term, condo-hotel rentals may be your best choice. Explore the shopping opportunities along the historic Corey Avenue and please make some time to tour the beautiful historic Don Cesar Resort. This iconic Mediterranean-style hotel was built during the renaissance period and has been a St Pete Beach icon of luxury ever since. You will swear you just stepped onto the set of one of the “Godfather” movies!

#3 Fort Desoto Beach

This is an amazing beach for all of those who want a beach experience that is somewhat off the beaten path. They have designated areas where you can actually camp! Fort De Soto Park has just over 1,000 acres of preservation land that covers five interconnected small islands. These islands are home for an abundance of wildlife that live in the Park’s beach grasses, mangroves, wetlands. The beaches are pristine and feature a lagoon protected by sand bars that provides a safe place for children to enjoy the sand, sun and water. Here are a few more attractions. For starters, there is 7-mile paved trail for jogging, biking and walking. There are two on-site piers where visitors can fish without licenses, just bring your fishing rod! This is also dog-friendly containing a dog park and beach area. Need more? Kayak and bike rentals are also available as well. This park is perfectly placed between St Pete Beach and downtown St Petersburg which is only 20 minutes away!
